Ten “Mistaken” Commandments for High Performing Males and 10-Alternatives

In a world that often emphasizes toughness over vulnerability and possessions over inner growth, Men’s BREAKTHROUGH HANGOUT is here to challenge the status quo. Join men and my guest Dr. Stephen Frueh PhD as we unpack the Ten “Mistaken” Commandments for High Performing Males and 10-Alternatives Here are Dr. Stephen's Ten “Mistaken” Commandments 1) Thou shalt not be Vulnerable 2) Thou shalt measure thyself by how much and what you own. 3) Women are there for your use and benefit. 4) Thou shalt be an absentee father. 5) Thou shalt work tirelessly to impress those around you. 6) Thou shalt use ingenuity to medicate your fears and anxieties. 7) Thou shalt spend little or no time on knowing and understanding your spiritual life. 8) Thou shalt Pretend. 9) Thou shalt Deny. 10)Thou shalt work to slowly become Senile … and the Alternatives: 1) Vulnerability is a gift, an art, and a ‘door’ into who you are. 2) It’s Ok to own, not Ok to worship what’s owned or to use it as a ‘badge’ of self-worth. 3) Women volunteer to partner with you – trust that, welcome that , embrace that. 4) You and your children made a ‘deal’ at birth. Honor it. Be their father and as the old book says “your days shall be long upon the earth.” 5) You don’t have to impress me. You DO impress me. 6) Self-medication is an illusion. Learn to follow your physical symptoms. They will be your ‘teachers.’ 7) You are spiritual. You were born so. The ancients teach you to ‘husband it’ – attend to the soil/ care for it/ plant mindfully/ harvest often. 8) Pretentiousness, (M. Scott Peck says in People of the Lie) is evil. 9) Denial is a psychological ‘cul de sac.’ 10) Senility is a choice. Resist it. Thank you for tuning in to Men's BREAKTHROUGH HANGOUT.
